Historical information about the monument:
One of the ancient settlements of Absheron Nardaran settlement is located in the north-eastern part of the peninsula and is included in the grouping system of Mashtaga, Nardaran, Kurdakhani, Pirshagi settlements. The modern urban structure has been formed in three stages on the example of the historical architectural heritage. The Haji Bakhshi mosque which is mentioned belongs to the second stage. The mosque is located in the ancient historical center of Nardaran settlement and is close to the surrounding highways. The mosque was built in the 17th century by Murad Ali, an architect and high-ranking master, under the command of Bakhshali bin Sheikh Muzaffar during the reign of Shah Abbas II.

As a continuation of the square-shaped prayer hall in the Haji Bakhshali Mosque, a mosque with an open roof was also built. There is no analogue of this mosque, which performs "Istisga" prayers (rain and holiday prayers), not only in Absheron, but also in Azerbaijan. Such mosques can be found only in Arab countries. Two stone inscriptions are engraved on the entrance door of the mosque. The first book written in Nastalig script says: “By the permission of Allah, late Karbalayi Murad built this mosque, son of Mashadi Gulam Ali Anardarani. As a legal foundation for everyone, and it was the right decision. 1285 The beginning of Ramadan (1285 = 16 XII.1868)”.

According to the inscription, the mosque was widened to the right. In the second inscription it is written: “O Ali 1285. Master Safar built it. Karbalayi Muhammad Gulu wrote it (ie the inscription on it). Karim (1285 AH, 1868-69 AD)”. Although the list approved by the Resolution No. 132 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 2, 2001 states that the monument belongs to 1663, research on the sources shows that the monument was built in the XVII and XIX centuries (1663 and 1868).

A project to restore the monument has been developed and restoration work has been carried out in the building. At present, the mosque has been renovated by religious communities and is functioning as intended.
